Bioclimatic Pergola Systems

Bioclimatic systems — applicable in any space — combine folding, retracting and axial rotation in a way no other retractable roof system in the world offers. Thanks to panels that can open at any angle, they let you take advantage of daylight to whatever degree you want.

Through panel motion, ventilation through the roof is achieved without losing the shading function. Special-designed profiles and a concealed gutter system provide ventilation even when the system is open, without being affected by rain or snow.

The Winperax bioclimatic family covers three solutions: Aspendos Plus (aluminum louver), Aspendos Glass (glass panel) and Skyline Axial Bioclimatic (105° axial motion). Each series is optimized for a different use case.

The bioclimatic pergola is a motorized smart-roof system providing open/closed flexibility for restaurant, café, hotel and villa terraces. Full protection on rainy days, an open-sky experience on sunny days.

Aspendos Plus and Glass series fold; Skyline rotates axially up to 105° — the roof can be fully opened or closed. Guest comfort and terrace value rise.

3. Watertight rain protection

Thanks to the four-sided concealed gutter and watertight gasket system, there is no rain dripping in the closed position. Automatic closure with the rain sensor is standard.

The premium gear motor operates below 50 dB — it doesn't disturb guest conversation in a restaurant. With optional rain, wind and sun sensors, it integrates into smart-home automation.

5. Up to 12 m clear span

What is a bioclimatic pergola?

A bioclimatic pergola is an intelligent roof system in which aluminum or glass louvers are moved by a motor. The louvers can open at any angle and provide ventilation and shading at the same time. They are preferred for year-round use of restaurant terraces, café gardens, hotel pool areas and villas.

What is the difference between Aspendos Plus, Aspendos Glass and Skyline?

Aspendos Plus is the classic bioclimatic system with aluminum louver panels. Aspendos Glass is the version with 4+12+4 tempered insulated-glass louvers — providing maximum transparency and natural light. Skyline Axial Bioclimatic rotates the panel up to 105° axially, giving you precise control over airflow and light direction.

Which spaces is it suitable for?

Restaurant and café terraces, hotel breakfast areas, pool surroundings, smoking areas, villa pergolas and large balconies. Aspendos series can be produced for openings up to 12 m.

Is the system protected against rain and wind?

Thanks to the watertight gasket between louvers and the four-sided concealed gutter system, the system is rainproof in the closed position. It passes the EN 12210 wind-resistance test. Rain, wind and sun sensors are optional and recommended for automatic closing/positioning.

How is the bioclimatic system maintained?

Twice-yearly cleaning of louvers and gutters plus a motor mechanism check is sufficient. Our authorized dealers offer periodic maintenance contracts; fleet maintenance plans can be arranged for restaurant chains.
